LIVE- Book presentation
On April 24 we will present “Holtense Canadezen”. The book is about the Canadian cemetery in Holten, and about some of the 1394 soldiers who are buried here.
Holtense Canadezen is about soldiers who used to live along the wild shores of New Brunswick and Nova Scotia, on the empty prairies of Manitoba or Saskatchewan, or in the mountains of Alberta or British Columbia. They were used to the heavy manual work in the countryside, had seen the inside of mines, and were hardened by the cold Canadian winters. They left their secure environments to start an uncertain adventure in the Second World War.Why did they join in the fights in a war so far from home? And where and how were they killed?
You can follow the presentation of the book live from 2 pm till 2.45 pm on our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/events/551157402515563/ or via https://wp.janbraakman.nl/?p=2229.
