The presentation of the book Holtense Canadians has resulted in publicity in various media.
The Dagblad van het Noorden wrote: “The Canadian cemetery in Holten has 1,394 white tombstones of soldiers who died during the fighting in the Netherlands and Northern Germany. One of them is Albert Bouma, a Canadian of Dutch and German origin, who died during the fighting in Wagenborgen. Journalist and writer Jan Braakman (61) from Zwolle tells Albert's story in the book Holtense Canadians.” Read the full article in the Dagblad van het Noorden at: https://www.dvhn.nl/groningen/Het-verhaal-van-de-Canadese-soldaat-op-plot-III-rij-G-graf-9-26774874.html
RTV Oost reporter Sander Jongsma reported on the book with author Jan Braakman. “For the first time, all the familiar names of the Canadian soldiers buried in Holten have been bundled in a book,” Jongsma writes in an accompanying article. In the Stentor, Regien Klein Hegeman wrote that the book reads like a thriller. She judges that Holtense Canadians has become an extensive book, which explains, among other things, why the field of honor is precisely located in Holten. “It could also have been in Ommen,” notes Braakman. “But the Canadian army leadership found this environment similar to the landscape of Ontario.” Read the full article at: https://www.destentor.nl/reggestreek/nieuw-boek-holtense-canadezen-leest-als-een-thriller-wie-waren-die-helden-die-ons-hebben-bevrijd~a1375cb9/
