We run on volunteers

Those who do good meet well

This information center is run by more than 120 enthusiastic volunteers in various roles. Thanks to their involvement, this is a hospitable and educational place for tens of thousands of visitors per year for many days.

Education and research

Our research team investigates information about the Second World War and, in particular, the liberation of the Northeast Netherlands. The volunteers also find out life stories and information about the 1,394 graves at the Canadian Cemetery in Holten. They do this with archival research and in cooperation with relatives, international organizations and schools. This team also develops a catchy program for schools and visitors and input for our guides. Are you interested in history, stories and education? Then join with the research and education team

The guide brings the history and stories behind 1,394 graves to life, shares impressive anecdotes and ensures that generations reflect on the meaning of freedom and the sacrifices that have been made for it. Depending on the company and personal interests, each guide gives their own twist to a 90-minute tour. The guides learn from each other.
