True stories in the experience space of the renewed ICB

In the new experience room of the Information Center, stories are told of soldiers buried at the Canadian Cemetery Holten.

The Information Center's new experience room tells the stories of soldiers buried at the Holten Canadian Cemetery. This includes Bill, Virginia Tingley's uncle from Canada.

“As a family, we are very happy that Uncle Bill was chosen for the experience space. We've always kept the memory of him alive. I once had the pleasure to visit the cemetery in Holten, and I was moved to see how beautifully each grave is cared for. At that time, I took a lot of pictures for my mother (Lorna) and for my aunt Mary. They never had the opportunity to visit Holten. My sister Linda Fury and I have given a number of presentations about Uncle Bill, for a family reunion, and for a church in our region. Many family members have visited the Canadian Cemetery in Holten, and we are fortunate that my uncle is buried there. As I told my mother and aunt after my visit to Holten: “If a soldier has to be buried far from his homeland, the cemetery in Holten is the perfect place”.”
